Intrepid’s MultiGigabit Media Converter RAD-Moon 3 is the latest Ethernet Media Converter for 2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 MultiGigabit Automotive Ethernet applications.
The RAD-Moon 3 converts the Ethernet physical layer from MultiGBASE-T1 to MultiGBASE-T. This is needed to directly connect a PC equipped with the standard 8-wire Ethernet to an automo tiveECU or Switch which use the 2-wire version of Ethernet specific to In-Vehicle Networks. (IVNs)

Connecting a PC directly to an automotive ECU using the RAD-Moon 3 is useful for simulating other vehicle nodes, performing direct diagnostics, or ECU reflashing.
The registers of the MultiGBASE-T1 PHY can be accessed for direct control and monitoring of its operation, as well as enable test and diagnostic modes.*
